I think that why all current events can be distilled into four types of cultural conflict is because most of the problems that happen are usually in the four categories. Those categories are religion, economics, traditional vs. modern values, and politics. I think they are in these four categories because the government plays a huge role in a lot of the problems so politics and economy are there. Religion is there because there is still a lot of fighting between countries about religion, and traditional vs. modern values is there because sometimes conflict can break out when people are still living life by old traditions and other people are living by new traditions that are not that similar to the old ones.

The major themes that I noticed in class regarding cultural conflict in the Middle East is that they usually happened with countries that had the same culture but is celebrated differently or is a rivaling neighbor that never really got a long in the first place because of there culture.
