The conflict that I am comparing to the Saudi Arabia-Iran conflict that I studied in the Middle East is the Syrian Civil War.
These conflicts are very different from each other in many different ways, three of these ways are the conflict length, the reason for the fighting is different, and the other country input.
Firstly, the Saudi Arabia conflict has been going on for almost 42 years, it is dating back to 1977. While the Syrian civil war has been going for 8 years, so it started in 2011. The conflict in Saudi Arabia has been going on for 36 more years than the Syrian civil war.
Secondly, the Saudi Arabia conflict started when the Iran leader was overthrown during their religious revolution, and replaced them with a new leader that did not like Saudi Arabia and its allegiance with the U.S. The Syrian civil war started when the children made anti-government graffiti. They did this because of the lack of freedom from the way the government was put together. Their government is like a hierarchy, they have a “royal family” that stays in power for a long time.
Lastly, other countries have been pulled in to both of the conflicts, in the Saudi-Iran conflict, they have pulled in countries like Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Bahrain. In the Syrian civil war, countries like Iraq and U.S, have been pulled in to help which ever side that the choose.
In conclusion, the main differences between the Saudi-Iran conflict and the Syrian civil war is the reason for it, what other countries helped, and the length of the conflicts. These three reasons state only a couple of the reasons why these two conflicts in the Middle East are so very different from each other
