I feel that my sarcophagus will help me in the afterlife because it has a good pair of eyes to help me see what is still going on in the world of the living and the colors and designs will help me come back and visit my sarcophagus when I want to. Egyptians believed that when they died their spirit would continue to live in the afterlife. Which is similar to the living world. I feel that Egyptians believed this because of their belief in immortality and because of the certain gods that they believed in.

If I was to go back to the negotiating table again, I would try to claim more land more quickly so I had more to bargain with. I would have also tried to figure out what each group wanted so I could negotiate what they wanted to what I wanted and there fore get more land.
This activity was frustrating because group 5 somehow got almost all of Africa and left the rest of us with only a little bit of space, and they wouldn’t negotiate with any of us unless he wanted something that the rest of us wanted. It was also frustrating because other groups wouldn’t give up land without a serious fight, or would just try to make the other one give up land that they wanted to get the other land.
What went well was that we eventually got some of the land we wanted, the other group that wanted it made us compromise to that they got some of it. It was not a bad deal. What also went well is in the end we got a little piece of the land that we originally wanted and we got most of north west Africa.
I think that there a ton of pros and cons of imperialism that happened in Africa. Some of the pros were that Africa was modernized a little bit and exposed to other countries and their way of life, new resources that were left untouched were found and used for the better of humanity, and the African people were exposed to new culture and religion that changed their way of life. The cons are that thousands of people were killed, it started the slave trade that continues for many decades, tons of people lost there culture due to missionaries, and tons of kingdoms were destroyed never to be seen again. In conclusion, I think that Africa could have done well without imperialism because of all of its pros and cons.

The conflict that I am comparing to the Saudi Arabia-Iran conflict that I studied in the Middle East is the Syrian Civil War.
These conflicts are very different from each other in many different ways, three of these ways are the conflict length, the reason for the fighting is different, and the other country input.
Firstly, the Saudi Arabia conflict has been going on for almost 42 years, it is dating back to 1977. While the Syrian civil war has been going for 8 years, so it started in 2011. The conflict in Saudi Arabia has been going on for 36 more years than the Syrian civil war.
Secondly, the Saudi Arabia conflict started when the Iran leader was overthrown during their religious revolution, and replaced them with a new leader that did not like Saudi Arabia and its allegiance with the U.S. The Syrian civil war started when the children made anti-government graffiti. They did this because of the lack of freedom from the way the government was put together. Their government is like a hierarchy, they have a “royal family” that stays in power for a long time.
Lastly, other countries have been pulled in to both of the conflicts, in the Saudi-Iran conflict, they have pulled in countries like Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Bahrain. In the Syrian civil war, countries like Iraq and U.S, have been pulled in to help which ever side that the choose.
In conclusion, the main differences between the Saudi-Iran conflict and the Syrian civil war is the reason for it, what other countries helped, and the length of the conflicts. These three reasons state only a couple of the reasons why these two conflicts in the Middle East are so very different from each other

I think that why all current events can be distilled into four types of cultural conflict is because most of the problems that happen are usually in the four categories. Those categories are religion, economics, traditional vs. modern values, and politics. I think they are in these four categories because the government plays a huge role in a lot of the problems so politics and economy are there. Religion is there because there is still a lot of fighting between countries about religion, and traditional vs. modern values is there because sometimes conflict can break out when people are still living life by old traditions and other people are living by new traditions that are not that similar to the old ones.
The major themes that I noticed in class regarding cultural conflict in the Middle East is that they usually happened with countries that had the same culture but is celebrated differently or is a rivaling neighbor that never really got a long in the first place because of there culture.
The link below is an article about Jordan teachers ending there week long strike. The teachers went on strike to get a raise in their salary after the government said that they didn’t have enough money.

What I found surprising about the low ropes activity course was that it was really hard, I thought it would be easy because it seemed like some of the obstacles would be easy to accomplish. What I also found surprising was how hard it was. I would have never thought it would be so hard to cross a simple thing. What I found challenging about it is that it was all be chance, I thought that was the most difficult part. I thought this was difficult because your fate was what number you rolled on the dice. If you got a good number then you just had complete the obstacle at hand, if you rolled a bad number than you had to go back to the start or wait for awhile for someone to collect all of your money wait until you were released. I think this mirrors what actual refuges go through really well because if you didn’t make it across, you either “died”or were sent back to where we came from. I feel like they mirrored the money situation really well because when you had to fix something or had to get out of somewhere you had to pay a person all of your money, you didn’t know that they were going to fix ir or not, or even release you. Most of the time you ended up broke. And you had to beg for money from other refuges, no one really wanted to give away there money to other people so most broke refuges stayed broke.
